The challenge

Nordic Outdoor Gear had established itself as a recognized local player for outdoor enthusiasts, but their digital presence was lagging behind. The existing online store was outdated, slow on mobile phones, and lacked integration with their physical inventory (ERP system).

This led to two major problems: customers were abandoning their shopping carts due to a poor user experience, and employees were spending hours manually processing orders. They needed a partner who understood design , technology , and conversion psychology to take the leap to become a national player.

Our strategic approach

At Techspace, we never start with coding. We started with data. Through in-depth analyses of user behavior, we discovered that 70% of their traffic came from mobile, but their mobile conversion rate was below 0.5%. The solution required a total “Mobile-First” rebuild.

  • Frictionless UX: We designed a new purchasing journey where the customer can go from product to payment in just 3 clicks.
  • Automatic Inventory: We built a custom API integration with Visma, so that the online store and the physical store were always synchronized in real time.
  • SEO Foundation: The entire product catalog was restructured and optimized for search engines to capture purchase-ready searches like “buy lightweight tents online”.

The Solution & The Result

The new platform was launched just before the peak season. The results were immediate. Thanks to the new design and lightning-fast loading times, Nordic Outdoor Gear not only saw an increase in traffic, but a massive increase in actual sales.
